ABOUT NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE

Colonel Jim Porter released NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1927, three years after perfecting his recipe. Within a short period, it became firmly established as the beer of choice in North East England, and its iconic status continued to spread throughout the UK.

The one and only NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE. It's brewed with an ABV of 4.7% with a unique blend of pale malt and darker caramel malt to give it its smooth, characteristic flavour and colour.

FACT

In 1928, the year after the beer was launched, the blue star logo was introduced. It has since been updated to reflect changes in Newcastle's geography. The star is made up of five points, each representing one of the five founding breweries of Newcastle.
